"Sitting and waiting
Bored in my room
I get a call
And see it’s from you
You tell me to wait
Just a minute of my time
It’s simple but I,
Know not of what’s next
“I did it Claire,” you say
And I fall into shock
Those four simple words
So quiet yet so loud
I start to shake
And can’t help but ask why
But once you tell me
I just start to cry
I tried to get you help
But all that fell through
One girl I used to trust
Lost it all that night
She agreed that she’d help
And then quickly called you
Suddenly it was clear
Just what I had to do
I bolted down the stairs
And grabbed the other phone
I dialed 911
But first I called my mother
I asked her how many
Sleeping pills does it take
Because you had taken 15
And she said “call the police”
The phone rang only twice
Then I heard a voice
All I said was “ambulance”
And they were quickly on their way
They must have left
Not a second too late
For when they arrived
You were slipping away
I knew nothing after that
I was terrified to know
Whether you were alive and well
Or if you were here on a thread
I thought of you after that
It was a long and tiring night
And after a dreamless sleep
I hoped I’d awoken from a dream
I stayed home from school
I couldn’t concentrate
I thought this was your end
And my phone began to ring
You texted me the words
I never thought I’d read
A smile broke out on my face
When I saw “You saved me.”"
This is my poem that I'm turning into a song about my friend. The blog that was called 72 hours is what really happened and this is based off of it. It's late though.
Goodnight,
Ryan
